Understanding Balance and Postural Stability (BAPS)

The importance of the lumbo-pelvic and hip complex is such that over 29 pairs of muscles work together in stabilising the spine and pelvis in preventing postural dysfunction by directly improving human performance. A collapse in these key components has been clinically proven to decrease active stability which leads to a reduction in neuromuscular control, force production and poor movement efficiency; therefore reducing performance output. There are three weaknesses usually found throughout the body’s structure which is the cornerstone in improving athletic and clinical performance. These include the hip stabilisers, lumbar stabilisers and scapular stabilisers. At the EP Group we provide you with the tools and knowledge by actively showing you how to use your body in the aforementioned areas with high levels of efficiency. Not only have such techniques been proven to improve functional and sport performance, but also reduce the risk of injury and pain.
