Recently released research involving primary and secondary school age children has outlined that more than two thirds of primary school and sixty-four per cent of secondary school children have experienced back or neck pain over the last year. Children as young as 15 have shown posture related early arthritic changes on x-rays. A logical conclusion that can be drawn from these findings is that technology is probably a factor. When you consider that school children are provided laptop computers (the ergonomist’s enemy), we don’t exactly make it easy for them to maintain efficient postures. Throw this in the mix with the heady obsession with computer games and it’s no wonder their backs and necks take a hit! The good news is that it is never to early to start your kids on the path to good posture and a concise, targeted exercise program is a pretty easy sell if they are in any kind of regular discomfort. We can make corrective exercises interesting, challenging and even fun! Call us today if you have a desire for your child to slip the back and neck pain noose! We offer discounts for school-aged children.
